Ireland: Automobile Association reiterates defense against price-fixing allegations

Ireland’s Automobile Association is reinforcing previous findings that there is no price-fixing occurring at gas stations in Galway City, despite complaints of fuel prices at the gas pumps. According to reports, Ireland’s Competition Authority responded to a major influx of complaints over the matter last year, but an investigation ruled out the possibility of a cartel. Now, a spokesperson for the Automobile Association is reiterating its defense, noting that the price influxes will eventually balance out and that it’s a phenomenon that occurs in other urban areas.
