Japan: Authorities clear new addition to airline joint venture

Reports say Japanese authorities have approved Finland-based airline Finnair to join a pre-existing partnership between Japan Airlines and British Airways.

    The joint venture earned antitrust immunity to jointly set air fares and schedules.

    With the addition of Finnair, which will come into effect in the Spring of 2014, reports say the three will coordinate on services between Japan and Europe.

    All three airlines are part of the Oneworld airline alliance.
