Japan: Kosé cosmetics reaches outside Asia for growth

Japan-based cosmetics conglomerate Kosé is expanding its portfolio outside of Asia with a recently-announced acquisition of a New York competitor, say reports.

    Kosé will acquire cosmetics group Tarte, the first merger of the Japanese firm that expands the company outside the ASEAN nations. In a statement, the company said the deal “gives Kosé a new source of growth outside Japan.”

    The deal remains subject to regulatory approval in the US; financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
