Japan: Squire Patton Boggs buys Toyko firm

Squire Patton Boggs, which itself is the product of a law firm merger, announced Monday plans to acquire Tokyo-based firm Mamiya Law Offices, according to reports.

    Mamiya, founded in 2008, specializes in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other areas of international deals. The acquisition by Squire Patton Boggs will expand the firm’s presence across the Asia Pacific region by more than 180 lawyers.

    Squire Patton Boggs, based in the US with heavy presence in the UK, emerged last May after Squire Sanders merged with Patton Boggs.
