On Friday, Japan’s privacy regulator issued a warning to OpenAI, a startup supported by Microsoft and responsible for the ChatGPT chatbot, advising against the collection of sensitive data without obtaining people’s consent.
The Personal Information Protection Commission stated that OpenAI should reduce the amount of sensitive data it collects for machine learning. It also mentioned the possibility of taking additional measures if necessary.
