Korea: JPMorgan agrees to end merger talks

Korea Equity Fund said on September 20 that it and JPMorgan’s China Region Fund have agreed to suspend the merger discussions that were announced in July.

    The companies said the the talks were suspended based on the mutual conclusion that shareholder approval and the appraisal requirements of the Maryland Business Combination Act created substantial uncertainties concerning the successful merger.

    Korea Equity Fund said it will continue to searching for alternatives to the merger that are in its best interests.
