Lithuania: State-owned energy firm wants a piece of gas distributor

Lithuania’s state-owned energy utility Lietuvos Energija announced Wednesday it will pursue an acquisition of gas distributor Lietuvos Dujos, say reports.

The energy firm has formally requested the nation’s competition authority to proceed with a 38.9 percent buyout of the gas company, currently owned by E.On Ruhrgas.

According to reports, the acquisition requests adds to the plate of Lithuanian authorities who are also tasked with reviewing the acquisition of gas grid operator Amber Grid and electricity trader Lesto.
