Malaysia: Competition commission investigating egg prices

The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is working closely with the nation’s Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to identify the reasons behind the hike in prices of chicken eggs.

The agency is investigating whether the price increase over the last few months is due to anti-profiteering elements and anti-competitive behavior among market players, such as price fixing, market sharing, and the deliberate limiting of production.
