Malaysia: PM Yassin urges corporate compliance with competition law

 |  September 25, 2013

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is urging corporations to establish compliance of competition law and an ethical standard of professional conduct to comply with the nation’s Competition Law 2010, say reports.

Since the implementation of the legislation in 2012, severe sanctions have been issued for breaches of competition law, the Prime Minister said. Now, “compliance must take precedence over anything else,” Yassin said.

The remarks were made at the Prime Minister’s keynote address at the first MyCC Competition law Conference, held Wednesday.
