La COFECE ha iniciado una investigación sobre prácticas monopólicas en la industria del huevo en México. Señaló que aún no se han identificado plenamente los casos violatorios ni los responsables de estas conductas.
El precio del huevo se ha elevado drásticamente en semanas recientes, alcanzando 40 pesos por kilo en algunas ciudades del pais. La investigación al respecto tendrá una duración de entre 30 y 120 días hábiles.
El procedimiento no busca prejuzgar el comportamiento de ningún agente económico, sino verificar el cumplimento de la Ley de Competencia, recientemente aprobada.
