Mexico’s Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) has published, in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), its new guidelines for presenting complaints and denouncing monopolistic practices in the telecoms and broadcasting sectors, which may now be done online.
“The use of electronic means to present the complaint is optional and is established with the goal of making available to the general public an alternative mechanism that reduces the administrative burden and facilitates reporting the probable existence of prohibited anti-competitive behavior… ,” stated the document published by the regulator.
The complaints filed will be processed through a microsite added to the Investigative Authority section of the agency. The new reporting method will not replace the existing reporting options.
