The Netherlands’ government has appointed former Healthcare Authority board member René Jansen as the new chairman of gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).
Jansen’s nomination was submitted by the minister for legal protection Sander Dekker and approved by the council of ministers on August 24, with Jansen assuming his new role on October.
He will be supported in the role by Bernadette van Buchem, who will serve as a member of the board and vice chairman of the KSA, effective October 15.
Jansen has spent the past three years as a member of the board of the Dutch Healthcare Authority, during which time he also served as chairman of the European Healthcare Fraud & Corruption Network. He has also held several management positions at the former Dutch Competition Authority.
