New Zealand: Commission follows suit in mega publisher merger

The Commerce Commission has fallen in line with the US and Australia in approving of a merger between publishing houses Penguin in Random House, resulting in a mega global publisher. US and Australia antitrust authorities have already approved of the merger, and the European Commission is also expected to approve of the deal next month. The merger was originally announced last October.
