New Zealand: High Court delivers defeat to Chorus pricing challenge

The High Court of New Zealand sided with the nation’s Commerce Commission Tuesday when it denied telecommunications infrastructure firm Chorus’s attempt to overturn an earlier ruling on pricing, according to reports.

    Chorus had sought an appeal of the Commission’s decision on copper broadband connection prices on the claim that the regulator incorrectly applied the law. The High Court disagreed, however, in a ruling Chorus said it would review.

    In a statement, Chorus said the Court’s decision “simply leaves the status quo in place.”
