In response to a recent report by UK newspaper The Telegraph citing anonymous sources that claimed PepsiCo Inc.’s Frito-Lay could merger with Mondelez, which includes Cadbury and Nabisco, Pepsi has stated that the rumors are false and that nor major acquisitions are in the works. In a statement Friday, Pepsi addressed whisperings that the company would divest some of its businesses with disappointing sales. Regardless, the company has been restructuring its North American beverage business; Pepsi said it would provide more information in early 2014.
