OFT declines to conduct update review of newspaper and magazine distribution sector
The OFT has announced that it will not be conducting an update review of the newspaper and magazine distribution sector. A prioritization assessment and consultation with trade bodies and companies has led to the OFT to conclude that since its last review, prices of newspapers and magazines have declined, the number of retailers has remained stable, and the availability of newspapers and magazines has improved. The sector has also taken steps toward self-regulation, such as establishing the Press Distribution Charter.
