OFT reluctant to confirm Facebook’s new friend, Instagram

 |  June 24, 2012

Facebook’s proposed acquisition of Instagram is being investigated by the U.K. Office of Fair Trading (OFT). The OFT is concerned that Facebook may restrict uploads from Instagram to other sites, or restrict competing photography apps from uploading to Facebook. The OFT has asked for public comment on the deal by July 5. A decision will be reached by August 23.
