OFT Statement of Objections issued for Mercedes-Benz and U.K. dealers

 |  June 29, 2012

The U.K. Office of Fair Trading has issued a Statement of Objections to Mercedez-Benz and five dealers: Ciceley, Enza, H&L Garages, Northside Truck & Van, and Road Range. With the Statement, the companies are put on notice of a proposed infringement decision.

The OFT believes that the dealers worked together to limit competition in the North of England and parts of Wales and Scotland between March 2007 and January 2010. The cooperation took the form of coording prices, sharing markets, and exchanging commercially sensitive information. Mercedes-Benz may have helped facilitate the dealers’ actions.
