Pakistan: Accountants group finds out about antitrust fine through media, has yet to receive formal notice from authorities
According to the Institute of Charted Accountants of Pakistan, the ICAP has yet to formally receive a penalty notice from the Competition Commission of Pakistan and only heard of the penalties issued upon it by the antitrust authority through the media. ICAP Secretary Shoaib Ahmed said that the fine imposed on the ICAP still has not been formally issued, and noted that he could not confirm or deny whether the ICAP would pay it. The CCP originally imposed the fine earlier this month in response to the ICAP ordering its member organizations not to hire non-ICAP students as interns.
