The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) on Thursday, August 16, approved the acquisition by Robinsons Retail Holdings of shares in Rustan Supercenters Inc.
The acquisition will not result in a substantial lessening of competition in the relevant market, the PCC stated in its decision dated August. 16th.
“There are sufficient competitive constraints remaining from other market participants, post-transaction,” it stated.
Robinsons Retail earlier announced that the acquisition is in line with the Gokongwei group’s retail business expansion.
