Portugal: Regulator says Meo will not have to share fibre

Portugal’s National Communications Authority (Anacom) will not make Meo share its fibre optic network with competitors, reports Exame Informatica. In the document with the draft decision, the regulator justifies its stance with the position that the competitors have already secured geographic and market share through similar technologies, equivalent to optical fibre. NOS has not presented objections to Anacom’s decision, but Vodafone considers that this decision, if confirmed, undermines competition.
