Public support cleared to help publish culturally valuable books in Spain

 |  May 8, 2012

The European Commission has approved Spain’s scheme of €10.95 million to fund the publication of culturally valuable books. The public support is within state aid rules for cultural purposes, and will be granted for the next three years. Books that qualify for the aid are first editions, books published in the relevant language more than 15 years ago, or books that have a novelty of special cultural significance. Works will be assessed by an evaluation committee of experts.
