Russia: FAS to allow state telco’s 50% Tele2 buyout

Russian regulators will reportedly allow state telecom operator Rostelecom to acquire a 50 percent stake in T2 Rus Holding, which controls fellow operator Tele2 Russia.

    The nation’s Federal Antimonopoly Service will clear the deal, allowing Rostelecom and Tele2 Russia to establish a joint venture, in which Rostelecom will own 45 percent.

    In return, the joint venture will gain certain Rostelecom assets.

    Financial details of the deal were not reported.
