Russia: Talks to settle dispute over Telenor merger

Head of the federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia Igor Artemyev has said a meeting of the government commission for foreign investments may be held in late-November to settle a dispute between government authorities and Telenor. Telenor had recently bought-out VimpelCom, increasing the Norwegian company’s stake to 43 percent; the government commission for foreign investments has said, however, that Telenor never received permission to complete the deal.
