Singapore ferry operators fined for sharing price information

 |  July 18, 2012

The Competition Commission of Singapore (“CSS”) has fined two ferry operators for engaging in anti-competitive behavior. The watchdog announced on Wednesday that the operators which served two routes, Singapore(HarbourFront) to Sekupang and Singapore(HarbourFront) to Batam Centre, had shared confidential price information on ferry tickets, and were frequently verifying their pricing with one another.

The CSS condemned these actions as it encouraged collusion and price fixing in a market with already limited competition.
