South Africa: Unconditional construction merger, despite referral to Tribunal
South Africa’s Competition Tribunal has approved of a proposed merger between Humulani Marketing and construction equipment entity High Power Equipment. The approval was given without conditions, despite the fact the Competition Commission had referred the case to the Tribunal after concerns over how the merger would affect the market’s sustainability against collusion.
