South Korea: Antitrust head to collaborate with finance minister on policy

The head of South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission is set to meet with the nation’s finance minister, as well as the head of the National Tax Agency, this week as the financial officials plan to collaborate and discuss recent policy issues. Finance Minsiter Hyun Oh-seok will meet the officials as the nation’s concerns over recent economic policy continues to concern the public; reports say the government’s “economic democratization,” which looks to cut down on unfair business practices and allow for smaller, independent businesses to compete, may harm the economy in the long-run. Reports say the leaders are likely to discuss those concerns growing within the nation’s business community.
