South Korea: Renewed focus lands on price-fixing, abuse of dominance for FTC

South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has announced that the regulator will be upping efforts against price fixing and abuse of dominance within the nation’s markets, according to reports. Offered in a policy briefing to President Park Geun-hye, the FTC vowed to fight for fair competition across sectors, stating that the regulator will “work hard to eradicate price rigging practices” and will ramp-up its investigation unit, as well as strive towards a higher penalty ratio for those found guilty of bid-rigging.
