Spain: $34 million in fines for polyurethane cartel

Spain’s competition authority, the CNC, has issued nearly $34 million in fines to various polyurethane foam manufacturers for forming a cartel. According to the CNC, ten companies have been fined with one exemption issued to Rectiel under the CNC’s leniency program for informing the authority of the cartel. The CNC says the companies colluded to fix prices and shared market-sensitive information.
