Spain: Antitrust authority opens proceedings against leading electric company

Spain’s competition authority, the CNC, has opened proceedings against Endesa Distribucion Electrica S.L., the nation’s leading electricity transmission and distribution company, for its alleged abuse of dominance. According to the CNC, Endesa levied charges on individuals when they installed network extensions on the supplies necessary for that expansion. The distributor was burdened with carrying out the work of network extensions. The probe was initiated based on complaints submitted to the CNC.
