Spain: CNC fines seafood manufacturer for hampering competition

The CNC has fined ANFACO more than €2 million for collusive dealing and coordinating purchases of mussels, the authority has announced. According to a press release, the CNC found that the seafood manufacturer had made agreements in 2008 with competitors to temporarily stop purchases, forcing producers of the products to reach agreements on terms of purchase. The CNC says that by the nature of this behavior, competition was likely restricted.
