Spain: Competition regulator goes head-to-head with gov’t on solar panel tax

 |  September 19, 2013

Spain’s competition watchdog warned the government that plans to issue taxes on solar power generation will harm the nation’s competitive edge, the second wave of backlash against the proposal after the nation’s National Energy Commission similarly slammed the plans.

The criticisms were published in the regulator’s report, offered last Monday.

The taxes on solar power generation were cleared by Spain’s Council of Ministers last July.
