Spain: Mazda fined for limiting consumer choice in repairs

Mazda’s Spanish automobile unit has been fined more than €180,000 for competition infringements by the CNC. The fine was issued after the CNC found that Mazda hampered competition in the market when it restricted the provision of repair and maintenance services by independently-owned workshops – Mazda’s warranty excluded certain workshops from making repairs on Mazda parts, thus limiting consumer choice.
