Spain: Surprise raids at undisclosed fire-protection companies for alleged cartel

The CNC carried out unannounced inspections at several companies within the fire-protection market last week, the authority announced, though it did not disclose exacly which companies were inspected. The CNC did say, however, that the raids were conducted as part of an investigation into suspected cartels in the sector that may be leading to fixed prices. In June of 2011 the CNC fined several fire-protection system manufacturers after Marelli submitted a leniency application. The company would have otherwise been fined €1 million.
