Spain: Taxi drivers threaten to occupy CNMC facilities

 |  September 25, 2017

Élite Taxi, one of Spain’s most radical groups within the transport sector, has threatened to “occupy” public administration offices in Barcelona whose responsibility is the regulation of transport. Included are the Catalan Competition Authority and the National Market and Competition Commission (CNMC).

In recent months the mobilization of the taxi sector has been a repeat occurrence. Last July a demonstration took place both in Madrid and Barcelona, which was not supported by Fedetaxi, the sector’s largest guild.
