The European Commission has approved a joint venture between French postal operator La Poste and Swiss postal operator Swiss Post. The joint venture The JV will provide international mail delivery services, logistics services, and freight forwarding, among other activities.
The Commission’s approval is conditioned on Swiss Post divesting its subsidiary in France, Swiss Post International France. The joint venture may otherwise allow La Poste to increase its dominance in the French market for standard outbound international addressed mail delivery services for business customers.
