Media giants Fox, Walt Disney’s ESPN, and Warner Bros Discovery are set to launch a joint sports streaming platform, as reported by CNBC on Wednesday. Citing insider sources, the platform is expected to be priced at above $40 per month.
The announcement comes on the heels of the media conglomerates’ acknowledgment on Tuesday of their intention to roll out a sports streaming service in the upcoming autumn, reported Reuters. Targeting younger demographics who are less inclined towards traditional television viewing, the collaboration seeks to tap into the burgeoning market of streaming entertainment.
According to CNBC’s report, the companies have already identified an executive to lead the venture, although the name is yet to be disclosed. The proposed service is envisioned to offer a comprehensive package encompassing television channels such as ESPN, TNT, and FS1, alongside streaming sports content.

In a bid to maximize accessibility, subscribers will have the flexibility to opt for the service either as a standalone offering or as part of a broader streaming bundle, integrating seamlessly with existing platforms such as Disney+, Hulu, or Max.
Despite CNBC’s coverage, when approached for comment, representatives from Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros Discovery did not provide an immediate response to Reuters’ inquiries.
The collaboration between these media powerhouses underscores the shifting landscape of entertainment consumption, with streaming platforms becoming increasingly pivotal in reaching diverse audiences. As the launch of the joint sports streaming service looms closer, anticipation builds regarding its potential impact on the media industry and the evolving preferences of viewers worldwide.
