Sweden/UK: Atlas engineering firm snaps-up vacuum parts maker

Sweden-based engineering firm Atlas Copco announced plans to acquire UK-based vacuum parts maker Edwards Group in a $1.2 billion deal, though reaches a value of about $1.6 billion including the assumption of debts Reports say Edwards shareholders have already cleared the deal. In a statement, Edwards CEO Jim Gentilcore said the firms “share very similar strategic goals, strong brands and leading market positions.” Edwards manufacturers vacuum pumps. Atlas CEO Ronnie Leten said the company is “excited” for the deal.
