Dr. Hubert Orso Gilliéron joined Zurich-based law firm Froriep as partner on February 1, 2019.
Hubert Orso Gilliéron specializes in Swiss and European competition, commercial, and corporate law, including M&A transactions. He also has extensive experience in international arbitration. His practice includes the drafting and negotiation of all types of complex national and international commercial agreements, including share and asset purchase agreements, distribution and franchise agreements, as well as joint venture agreements in various industries, including luxury goods and energy.
He represents clients in complex economic administrative proceedings, civil litigation, and arbitration proceedings, in particular whenever antitrust issues are at stake.
He assists clients in performing their internal risk assessment and setting up tailored compliance programs adapted to the client’s business.
Hubert Orso Gilliéron holds a Master of Laws and a Superior Degree in Management and Business Administration from the University of Lausanne. He holds a doctorate in competition law from the University of Fribourg. He was admitted to the Geneva bar in 2004.
He is the author of numerous legal publications and regularly acts as a speaker. He is the president of the Swiss Competition Association (ASAS), member of the Swiss Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Canton of Geneva, the Association of International Business Lawyers (AIBL) and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA). He was formerly the Chairman of the Junior Chamber International Geneva. His working languages are French, English, Italian, and German.
