U.K.: Experts say recent cement deals encourage competition

Experts are questioning the current state of competitiveness in the cement sector of the U.K. A recent deal approved by the Office of Fair Trading has allowed a merger between Tarmax and Lafarge, though Lafarge was asked to sell some of its assets, and did so to Mittal. Experts say the sale of the assets to Mittal is a positive move for competition in the cement market and raises the number of leaders from four to five.
