The Office of Fair Trading has agreed to remedies put forth by Edmundson Electrical Limited (EEL) to sell four of its wholesaling stores in order to acquire Electric Center. The deal prevents EEL’s venture from coming before the Competition Commission for review. The two companies are big players in the electric wholesales sector in the U.K. Four market areas in England and Scotland brought competition concerns for the OFT because of the deal, which the OFT feared may raise prices or decrease service in the areas.
