U.S.: 3M gets one more nod for ceramics buyout

Tech company 3M has been cleared by several antitrust authorities around the globe to purchase ceramics maker Ceradyne Inc for about $869 million. 3M has announced that the U.S., Austria and Germany are amongst the nations who have approved the deal. The technologies company has a broad range of specialization, including graphics and displays services, security services, communications and electronic product design and manufacturing, and health care. The purchase of Ceradyne is expected to expand 3M’s ceramics portfolio for their use of ceramics in paints, automotive parts, windmill applications and dental products.
