U.S.: DOJ investigating Samsung over essential patent misuse, says Apple

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is now under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice over whether the mobile-device company has been misusing its declared-essential patents in violation of antitrust law, according to Apple Inc. The DOJ has yet to confirm the investigation is underway, but sources say it’s been ongoing for months.
