U.S.: FTC granted more time to review Hertz-Dollar merger

Hertz Global Holdings Inc. has agreed to give the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) more time to review the car rental firms’ $2.3 billion bid to acquire Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. The FTC had failed to review Hertz’s previously announced cash tender offer to purchase all outstanding shares of common stock of Dollar, and requested for an extension, to which Hertz has said that it wont close the deal prior to November 16.
