U.S.: Judge allows class action against MLB, NHL, sports networks to proceed

A federal judge has ruled that sports fans pursuing an antitrust case against Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and various television networks can go ahead with his suit. The judge in Manhattan has said that the fans have “adequately” presented their case that they were harmed by alleged violations in how those networks packaged game programming. Specifically, the class action is saying that competition was reduced by the MLB, the NHL, some teams within both leagues, sports networks, Comcast Corp and DirecTV.
