U.S.: Judge allows no-contest plea in Florida West bid-rigging charge

Florida West International Airways Inc. has pleaded no contest to price-fixing charges in a rare plea allowance by a federal judge. U.S. District Judge Robert N. Scola Jr. has ordered Florida West to pay $1 million over a five-year span, a fine suggested by the Department of Justice. The company was brought to charges after being accused of fixing prices on northbound cargo shipments from South America.
