U.S.: Sky Angel sues C-SPAN despite FCC’s refusal to hear case

Sky Angel U.S. has filed an antitrust suit against the National Cable Satellite Corporation, who owns C-SPAN. According to court documents, Sky Angel is accusing C-SPAN of violating competition law when, in 2009, C-SPAN broadcasted programming on Sky Angel for several days, then withdrew from the cable service provider. Sky Angel is accusing C-SPAN of harming competition in the cable market for withholding its programming and hampering Sky Angel’s ability to compete. According to the suit, the Federal Communications Commission declined to take up Sky Angel’s case.
