U.S.: Warner Music Group’s Artist Arena fined for violating children’s online privacy

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has fined Warner Music Group’s Artist Arena $1 million for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. The FTC has alleged that the group collected names, e-mail addresses and other personal information from children younger than 12. Sites under dispute include fan sites of famous celebrities and music performers like Selena Gomez, Justin Beiber, Demi Lovato, and Rihanna.
