UK: Chief executive of new Competition and Markets Authority announced

The chairman of Ireland’s telecom authority ComReg Alex Chisholm has been announced as the incoming chief executive of the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the UK’s new antitrust authority. Chisholm’s position will officially begin on March 25 of this year; until then, he will remain chairman of ComReg. He has served his current position for five years. The Competition and Markets Authority is the result of the combined Office of Fair Trading and Competition Commission.
