UK: CMA delays publishing Booker-Tesco provisional findings

 |  November 1, 2017

The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA’s) provisional findings had been due by the end of October, but the morning of November 1, the authority altered its administrative timetable.

The CMA told Talking Retail it is not unusual for deadlines for provisional findings to move, but the final decision will be made on December 26, this is a statutory deadline and cannot be changed.

The authority announced its ‘phase 2’ investigation in July after news of the merger became public at the end of January.

The CMA has taken evidence from the Association of Convenience Stores, Bestway, Bidfood, British Brands Group, Confex, Landmark Wholesale, Palmer and Harvey, Spar UK, Sugro UK and Today’s Wholesale Services.
